Mike’s Bike Bits – Triumph T595/955i

After 12 years of fun, the much loved Triumph Daytona T595 sadly came to the end of it’s current life when the engine dropped a valve. After much soul-searching, I finally decided that the best thing to do was to dismantle the bike, sell the parts individually and then use the proceeds to buy my next bike. So the bike went from this…

...and then in its constituent parts.

…to this. I created this web page and blog to show all the parts that I’m selling and where they currently are in the process of being sold. All items have now been listed on eBay. The only thing that isn’t on there yet is the engine. I’m going to take some time to strip it down further to see exactly what is wrong with it before I list it.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for on this page then check out here too…

Alternatively, all items are shown below. If you click on the image then it will take you to the ebay listing.

The bike was registered in 1997, with a VIN No. 54055, so technically the paint colour should be Lightning Yellow as Strontium Yellow ended at VIN No. 53381. But I can’t guarantee that as none of the paperwork mentions which type of yellow it is. If anyone has any ideas on how best to identify it then that would be great.

Do you have the fixing bolts for the seat cowl and fairing for sale

  2. Dave says:

    Hi Mike,
I’ve got a 2000 reg 955i, it’s mint, but I could do with the crash bungs and a new gear shift rubber. If the price is right, and the parts fit my 955i, I’d be interested in quite a few odds and ends. I can come and collect as I live in Stirling. However, I don’t want to distract you from any better offers and folk who really need the bits now, so I’ll wait till your auction runs it’s course and see what’s left. Please contact me if this is ok, and I’ll come along and see what’s leftover.
    Cheers,
    Dave

Dave – No problem. All the auctions should be finished on Thursday. I’ll be updating the website then to show what’s left. If you fancy looking at any of it then let me know.

    Hi Mike,
Sorry to hear about your 595, it looked a great bike.
I am desperate for an original pair of mirrors for my 955i. (these are the correct one’s!) I would be interested in selling the pair of mirrors out side of ebay or on a buy now basis?
I could pay by pay pal or electronic transfer to your bank?
If you can let me knowthe costs etc… it would be greatley appreciated.

    Regards,
    Darren

  7. David Macdonald says:

    Hi Mike,
Do you have the ignition barrel/switch available? i don’t even require the key, just the barrel with the wiring and plug.
    Cheers,
    Davie.

It was sold with the frame I’m afraid, although I’m still waiting for the payment. So I might still be splitting it up.
